A Gallery of Fresh Oils

After my show opened in November, my cousin Ed Haile presented me with this poem.
The rhyme patterns are pretty cool.

A Gallery of Fresh Oils

     Pitter patter
brushwork spatter
          colors in and out

     of so many plains
in nameless flames,
         soften, straighten, shout.

    One of them pronounces breeze
shaking sparks from textilic trees
        in equinoctial rout.

It's masonry with light for mortar.
Forestry with night for water.
          Dawning round about.

And one where sea beyond the sand
blurs in unnotice, hopelessly to land
         unto a lazy crowd.
